THE 69 EYES: New Album Track Listing Revealed
September 23, 2004Finnish goth-metallers THE 69 EYES have revealed the track listing of their new album, entitled "Devils", tentatively due this fall through EMI/Virgin Records.
The follow-up to 2002's "Paris Kills" was produced by Hiili Hiilesmaa (H.I.M., MOONSPELL, SENTENCED) and Johnny Lee Michaels and will be preceded by a single containing the album's title cut.
"We worked for about one and a half years on this record [between songwriting and recording]," singer Jyrki 69 told Finland's Sonera Plaza Kaista. "I sometimes felt like the sessions were never going to be completed. But now, when I listen to the final result, I've gotta say that I'm totally satisfied and so happy! Whenever I think of our previous releases, there are always some little things I don't like about them, but 'Devils' is perfect record, in my opinion."
With regards to the album title, Jyrki said, "'Devils' is great title for a rock 'n' roll record, but no one has ever used it. And with 'devils,' we don't necessarily mean that goat-headed figure' [that most people think of when they hear the word] — our 'devils' refers to something else... It can mean, for example, the guys in this band."
